Funeral services for Billie Inez Kamerick, 81, of Albia were Saturday, May 3, 2003 at First Christian Church in Albia, the Rev. Lynda Carlson officiating.
Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were David, Justin, and Aaron Kamerick, Kyle Moon, Michael Callahan, Trevor McIndoe and Joshua Hawk.
Mrs. Billie Inez Kamerick was born November 1, 1921 in Henryetta, Okla. to the parents of Coney and Bertie Van Brunt Baumgarner She was united in marriage to Chester Smith on August 24, 1936; he died September 14, 1944. Billie later married Walter Arie Kamerick on June 10, 1947 in Pella. She was a homemaker and a Nurses Aid at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia for 9 years. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Albia.
Billie is survived by her husband, Walter of Albia; 5 sons; Chester Lee Smith of Fontana, Calif., Thomas Kamerick of Warsaw, Mo., Edwin Kamerick and wife Jane of Melrose, Walter Kamerick, Jr. and wife Kathy of Ottumwa, and William Kamerick of Albia; two daughters: Karen Moon of Albia and Delores "Dee" Van Dyk and son-in-law Ray of Pella; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Chester; and 5 brothers: Tony, Jim, Frank, and Joe Baumgarner, and Don Close.
Arrangements were handled by the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Monroe County or the Monroe County Public Health.
