Funeral services for Marguerite Charlotte Den Hoedt, 95, of Knoxville, who passed away Monday, Oct. 13, were held Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Rev. John Poe officiated at the services. Music was provided by Gene Newman, soloist and Jacque Robinson, organist.

Interment was at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Casketbearers were Delmar Nolin, Richard Waits, Ronald Waits, Dennis Waits, David Rexroat, Jr., and David Suplee. Honorary bearers were Homer Farmer, Roger Nolin, Bill Landgrebe, L.D. Modlin, Merwin Rexroat, David Moll, Michael Moll, Lawrence Bittner, and Philip Waits.

Marguerite was born on June 3, 1908, in Jasper County. She was the daughter of Frank David and Minnie Sarah (Strahan) Rexroat. She was raised west of Pella and attended Pella schools. On December 24, 1929 she married Arie Den Hoedt at the Methodist parsonage in Des Moines. The couple first lived in Newton and then in the Monroe, Knoxville and Otley areas before moving into Knoxville in 1946.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends whose lives she touched during her 95 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arie in 1969; four brothers, Walter, David, Donald and one stillborn; and three sisters, Freda Nolin, Fern Rexroat and Helen Waits.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements were made by Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.
