Funeral services were held for Andrew D. De Nooy, 86, who passed away Sept. 6 at Pella Regional Health Center, Sept. 10, at the Covenant Reformed Church in Pella. Officiating were the Rev. Patrick Edouard and the Rev. John H. Piersma. Pianist was Laura Rus, with special Music by Levi Nieuwsma, Drew De Nooy, Luke Nieuwsma, and Benjamin De Nooy.

Interment was held at the Sully Cemetery in Sully.

Casket Bearers, Brian Hiemstra, Tim De Nooy, Brad Hiemstra, Drew De Nooy, Levi Nieuwsma, Loren De Nooy. Family asks that memorials go to Hospice of Pella and Pella Christian High School.

Andrew Dick De Nooy was born July 10, 1917 in Richland Township to John and Christina (Gonlag) De Nooy. On January 21, 1949, Andrew was united in marriage with LaVerda Van Wyk. To this union, five children were born. The family farmed north of Sully and in the Leighton area before making their home on a farm near Reasnor.

Andrew worked for Pella Rolscreen for several years in addition to farming. Twenty-one years go, Andrew and LaVerda moved to Pella.

They attended the Covenant Reformed Church. LaVerda passed away on July 9, 2002. Andrew moved to Vriendschaap Village in 2003.

Andrew is survived by three sons and their wives: Carroll and Deb De Nooy of Sioux Center; Arvin and Brenda De Nooy of Sully, and Ron and Bonnie De Nooy of the Reasnor area; two daughters and their husbands: Dorothy and Stan Hiemstra of Knoxville and Carla and Les Nieuwsma of Pella; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers John DeNooy, and Fred De Nooy and his wife Goldie; and a sister, Lena Kelderman all of Pella.

He was Preceded in death by his parents, John and Christina De Nooy; his wife, LaVerda De Nooy; and two sisters: Johanna Boot and Nellie Rus.

Family asks that memorials go to Hospice of Pella and Pella Christian High School.
