Funeral services for Roger L. "Dutch" Bandstra, 57 of Belton, Mo., who passed away Dec. 2, were held Dec. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Pella, the Rev. John McNabb, officiating with Mr. Cornie Van Wyngarden, assisting. Music was provided by pianis Maxine Rozendaal.

Interment was at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria. Casket bearers were "his family".

Roger Lee Bandstra was the first of three sons that were born to James Evert and Tena Mae Van Wyngarden Bandstra. He was born on July 20, 1946 in Oskaloosa and baptized at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Peoria. Roger graduated from the Peoria Christian Grade School in Peoria and then attended Pella High School in Pella.

In 1973 Roger began dairy farming near Attica and continued to do so until 1983 when he relocated himself to Northern Missouri.

On August 12, 1967 he was united in marriage with Janet Kay Walker at Osage Beach, Mo. To this union five children were born: Renae Leann, Faron James, Melissa Ann and twins: Andrew Lee and Angela Kay. Janet's children, Pamela Sue and Jeffrey Rex Hewitt, and their five children became a united family. They raised their family in Missouri where Roger worked as a journey man lineman for Kansas City Power and Light. Roger belonged to the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers.

Roger is survived by his wife, Janet, six children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Roger leaves his parents, James E. and Tena Mae Bandstra of Peoria, Iowa; his youngest brother, Terry James Bandstra and his wife, Lona (Van Wyk) also of Peoria

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Ann Bandstra and infant brother, Darwin James Bandstra, who died in infancy on September 15, 1949.

For those desiring, memorials may be given to the Roger L. Bandstra Memorial Fund to be used for migraine awareness or needy people.
