Funeral services for Jennie Lorene Van Hal, 70, of Pella, who died March 11, 2000, were held March 14 at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

Rev. William Zeilstra officiated at the services. Music was provided by organist Betty Huyser. Burial was at Sully Cemetery in Sully, Iowa. Casketbearers were Geurt Van Hal, Gerrit Van Hal, Cornelius Van Hal, Jerry Van Hal, Donald Bennink, James Vanden Oever, Glenn Summers, and Carl Jensen.

Jennie was born December 16, 1929 in Sully Iowa the daughter of Jacob and Dena (Spoelstra) Van Hal.

Jennie grew up in Sully and attended the Sully Christian Grade School. She worked for the Christian Opportunity Center for eighteen years. Jennie was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella and enjoyed worship services. Her hobbies included puzzles, word-search puzzles, and visiting. Jennie moved to Pella twenty years ago. In February 1999, she moved to Hilltop Manor South.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Dena Van Hal; a sister Helene Van Hal; and a brother Raymond Van Hal.

She is survived by four brothers Geurt Van Hal, Palos Heights, Illinois, Gerrit Van Hall, Pella; Cornelius Van Hal, Pella and Jerry Van Hal, Pella; four sisters Sophia Bennink, Osceola, Evelyn VandenOever, Chariton, Darlene Summers, West Des Moines, and Nancy Jensen of Golden Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Van Hal of Pella.

Memorials may be made to Christian Opportunity Center.

Arrangements were made by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
