Funeral services for Tammy Jean Van Wyk, 41, of Pella, who died on Friday, October 19, 2001, at her home, were held on Monday, October 22, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella. Interment was at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Tammy was born on January 7, 1960, in Newton. She was the daughter of Marcy and Larry Romick.

She married Marvin R. Van Wyk on March 23, 1979, at the Monroe United Methodist Church. She lived for six years in Pella and the rest of her life in the Monroe and Otley areas.

She had worked as a sales clerk for Lee's Hallmark. She was a member of the Third Reformed Church in Pella and Jefferson Elementary Parent Teacher Organization - Pella Community School.

Tammy loved her family and her children’s friends. She spent many hours involved with church and school activities.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur Romick, Lewis Dammeier, and Grace Dammeier; and her father-in-law, Marion Van Wyk.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin R. Van Wyk of Pella; two sons, Nathan Van Wyk and Zachary Van Wyk of Pella; a daughter, Jenna Van Wyk of Pella; her parents, Marcy and Larry Romick of Monroe; her mother-in-law, Tunnet Van Wyk of Otley; her grandmother, Marie Romick of Prairie City; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Katrina Romick of Monroe; three nieces; and two nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.

Arrangements were made by Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
