Rosetta Jahner
October 21, 1936 - January 27, 2012

Doris Rosetta Jahner was born on Oct. 21, 1936, in Slaton, Texas, the daughter of John Allan and Cora (Dell) Page. She spent the first few years of her life in Lubbock, Texas, but spent many years in Clinton, Ark., where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to James Allen Jahner, Sr. in Walla Walla, Wash., on Valentine’s Day, 1956. The couple traveled around the United States for James’ job, and Rosetta held various jobs during that time, all while raising a family.

They finally settled in Knoxville in 1968 and Rosetta began working in the kitchen at the V.A. Medical Center. She owned and operated "J's Jeans” from 1979-1984. Rosetta’s greatest joy was raising her family and her children will remember her as a great mother. She was also involved in the upbringing of her husband’s brothers. Rosetta passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the Knoxville Hospital at the age of 75 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1998; son, Bob; her parents; and her brothers, John and Sammy Page. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jamey Jahner, Todd (Teresa) Myers, Shawn (Sue) Jahner, Roy (Kisha) Jahner and Shane Jahner; daughter-in-law, Lorri Jahner; grandchildren, Scott Jahner, James Jahner, Renae Douglas, Brad Jahner, Ben Myers, Lydia Jahner, Joe Jahner, Katy Myers, Ashley Jahner, Chandler Jahner, Emma Jahner and Ella Jahner; great-grandchildren, James, Aldria and Emmett; sister, Gloria Smart; and best friend, Burnie Viehdorfer.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Marion County 4-H or to the Marion County Humane Society.
