Funeral services for Thelma M. Huggins Miller, 79, of Midtown Apartments, a resident of Newton since 1955, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. A. B. Sudbrock, pastor of the Newton Baptist Temple, will conduct services. Burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials to the Newton Baptist Temple will be accepted.
She died Wednesday evening in Vallejo, Calif., following a heart attack.
Survivors are a son, James D. Still of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lee Miller, a son, Michael, in 1973 and a daughter, Peggy Henning in 1973.
Mrs. Miller, a retired psychiatric technician, attended the Newton Baptist Temple.
The daughter of Jacob J. and Ora A. Conn Huggins, she was born May 9, 1911 at Pleasantville and was graduated from Dallas High School.
