JOHN VANDE KROL

John Vande Krol, son of Henry and Mary Vande Krol, was born July 1, 1895, on a farm near Taintor, Iowa, and departed this life November 2, 1956, at his home in Sully at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and l day.

On September 28, 1916, he was united in marriage to Lillian Kruseman, and to this union were born five children, namely: three sons, Russell of Lynnville and Lloyd and Leo of Sully; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Lucille) De Graaf of Newton and Mrs. John (Treva) Meppelink of Lynnville Mrs. Vande Krol passed away in April, 1928.

On December 23, 1936, he was married to Edna Kooistra and to this union two sons were born, Lehrl and Daniel both at home.

In addition to his immediate family, Mr. Vande Krol is survived by 14 grandchildren, three brothers, Geurt of Sully and Harry and Leslie of Taintor: three sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Kate) Van Zante of Grinnell, Mrs. Neal (Mamie) Vander Wilt of Sully, and Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Vander Wilt of Lynnville, besides numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Celia) Renaud and Minnie, who died in infancy.

He lived the greater part of his life on the farm where he was born, and the last 14 years of his life in Sully.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour in early manhood and maintained a stedfast faith in his Saviour throughout his life.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 5, 1956. The body was taken from the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home to the family home where services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. and followed by services held at the First Reformed Church in Sully with Leonard Lindsted and Joe Balsan in charge. Abe Vander Beck and Mrs. Claris Van Genderen sang two numbers: "It is Well With My Soul" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," accompanied by Mrs. Nelson Terpstra. Casket bearers were Harris Van Zante, Orville Vander Wilt, Floyd Vander Wilt, Harley Renaud, Harold Vande Krol, Doyle Vande Krol. Burial was made in the Sully cemetery.
