Donald Darwin Rankin, 74, formerly of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on February 3, 2013 at his home in Sun City, Arizona.

The visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m,. on February 12, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 1202 Woodland Drive, Knoxville, IA.

Don was born in Lacona, Iowa on July 1, 1938. Don was married to Olive Beeler on June 14, 1958; they were married 54 years. Don was self-employed and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Don is survived by wife Olive, their eight children, Janice Fouch (husband Mike), Jeannie Bachman (husband Denny), Daniel (Tiny) Rankin, Judy Philben (husband Kerry), Jackie Beaver (husband Robert), Jennifer Norman (husband Joe), Darwin Rankin, David Rankin (wife Amy), his siblings Clair Rankin (wife Lois), Doyle Rankin (wife Suzie), Mary Ellen Dittmer (husband Germain), Jim Rankin (wife Susie), Elsie Krpan (husband Larry), Neil Rankin (wife Andi), Les Rankin (wife Diane), Betty Hugen (husband Bob), and 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild expected in April.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Chet and Ruth Rankin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family.
