(April 10, 1817 - February 13, 1901)

Obituary.
Albert Niles was born in Orleans county, Vermont, April 10, 1817, and died at his home at Caloma, on Wednesday, February 13, 1901, at 3 o'clock, at the age of 83 years, ten months and 3 days.
He was raised in his native state until he attained his majority and then moved to Massachusetts. In 1850 he emigrated to Lee county, Iowa, staying there until the fall of 1853, when he came to Caloma, Marion county, where he has since resided.
He was twice married. First to Miss Harriet Field, January 25. 1844, who died March 13, 1868. He was again married to Mrs. Julia Dunn, who survives him.
He was the father of five children, Alonzo A., Albertin C., Fredrick N. Ella and John N.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. S. Fair. at the Caloma 'school house, Thursday, February 14, in the presence of a large audience of friends and neighbors.
