July 30, 1890 - January 1, 1916

Peter N. De Reus died at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Saturday, January 1, 1916, aged 25 years. His death followed an operation to relieve a congested condition of the bowels. He was taken to Des Moines Christmas day, and the first reports were favorable. A serious change for the worse occurred about twenty-four hours before his death, however, and his relatives were summoned to his bedside.

Mr. De Reus was an industrious, honest young man, and his early death will be felt as a loss to his many friends as well as to the family. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelis De Reus, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4th, from the home at 12:30 and at the Second Reformed church at 1:00 p.m. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery.
