Des Moines, July 23, 1906

William H McConaughey, for many years a resident of Des Moines, died yesterday morning at his home, 806 third St. He was born at Higginsport, Ohio, in 1833, and served in the Thirtieth Ohio Volunteers throughout the civil war. He came to Iowa in 1876, locating at Knoxville, where he lived until his removal to Des Moines in 1881. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence.
