William Booy

Services for William Booy, 84, of Pella, who died July 25,1995 at Pella Community Nursing Home, were held July 28 at the Second Christian Reformed Church.

Interment was in Forrest Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

The Revs. Vern Boetsma and Darrel Kois officiated at the services. Music was provided by Betty Huyser, organist, and Larry and Arlene Van Zante, vocalists.

Pallbearers were Wayne, Timothy, Brian, and Christopher Booy, David Wiener, Curtis Witzenburg, and Mike Rentschler.

Mr. Booy was born on Aug. 27, 1910 at Pella, the son of Nick and Hattie Kelderman Booy.

On April 13, 1933, he married Emily Uitermarkt. He had farmed, was employed for Van Corp Implement in Oskaloosa for 11 years, and was retired from Vermeer Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James; and one sister, Lena.

He is survived by his wife; five sons and their wives, James and Carolyn of Carroll, Harold and Evelyn of Mountain Home, Ark., Arvin and Leola of Donaldson, Ark., Alfred and Carol of Oskaloosa, and Raymond and Janet of Nassau, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Marlene) Wiener of Ankeny, Mrs. Clifford (Janice) Rentschler of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Claude (Shirley) Nichols of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard of Homer, Mich.; and four sisters, Alice Huisman, Nellie Ver Meer, and Artie Rietveld, all of Pella, and Pearl Stravers of Holland, Mich.

A memorial has been established to Pella Community Nursing Home.
