Ralph T. Danks

Ralph T. Danks, age 78 passed away at the Des Moines General Hospital on December 24, 1995.

Services, were held at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City on December 27, 1995. Officiating was the Rev. Patricia Ryan. Soloist was Leonard Northway, organ music was provided by Jean Bartelma.

Casket Bearers were Max Vande Lune, Duane Laffey, David Person, Earl Danks, Doug Murrow, and Harry Wilson.

Mr. Danks was born in Percy, Marion County on January 16, 1917. He was the son of Peter and Con Harp Danks. A graduate of the Prairie City High School, he was married to Ellen Gustafson on May 30, 1941. He farmed in the Runnels area for many years until his retirement. He then moved to Valley View Village in Des Moines.

Surviving is his wife, Ellen, two sons and daughters-in-law; Jim and Phyllis Danks of Pella, and John and Pam Danks of Pleasantville; a daughter, Jean Mc Morris of Athens, West Virginia, nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Floyd Danks of Des Moines.

Mr. Danks was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Loren and two sisters; Margaret Colyn and Stella Danks.

He was a charter member of the Runnells Lions Club and had served as a clerk for Camp Township for many years.
