Peter C. De Cook

Services for Peter C. De Cook, 91, of Eldora, who died Jan. 28, 1995 at the Eldora Regional Medical Center in Eldora, were held January 31 at 10 a.m. at the Eldora Christian Church and at 2:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Pella. Creps-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Interment was in Porter Grove Cemetery in Pella.

Mr. De Cook was born March 18, 1903 at Leighton, the son of Conrad and Mary De Cook. He attended country school and later took a short business course at Central College.

He was employed by the Farmers Co-op of Leighton as manager and in 1928 he moved to Pella as manager of the Farmer's Co-op.

On Oct. 12, 1929, he married Mildred Smith of Carlisle. They made their home in Pella until May 1, 1936.

He was a charter member of the Eldora Kiwanis Club and was a member for over 25 years. He was a member of the Christian Church in Eldora and served as an elder as long as he was able.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1989; one daughter in infancy; his parents; and two brothers, Ernest and John.

He is survived by one brother, Clarence; and several nieces and nephews.
