PELLA - Funeral services for Helena "Sung Do" Kim Lopez, 60, of Pella, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pella.

Father Charles Fladung, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Pella.

Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Royce's Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home today and visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She died Sunday at the Pella Community Hospital.

Survivors are her husband, Arsenio; her children and their spouses: Yon Ae and Chris Spanos of Des Moines, Eduardo K. and Maria of Pella, Leonardo K. of Des Moines, Edgardo Kim and Josie of Pella, Estrella Kay and Richard Baker of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joseph K. of Pella; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Sonia (Mrs. Jacob) Brom of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The daughter of Pac and Suoncha Ki Kim, she was born Dec. 23, 1933 in Pusan, South Korea, and was educated and graduated from South Korean schools.

She was married to Arsenio B. Lopez Sept. 26, 1956 in Seoul, South Korea. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1994.
