Norma Louise (Talbott) Roberts Jones 1920 - 2008

Norma Louise (Talbott) Jones was born on April 19, 1920, in Ottumwa. She was one of eight children born to Lora Mae (Cool) and Milton Asbury Talbott. Norma graduated from Ottumwa High School. She was united in marriage to Loren Roberts on March 28, 1935. To this union four children were born. One son, Paul Roberts, passed away. Loren and Norma farmed for many years north of Fairfield near Brighton and Richland. Loren passed away and Norma later remarried.
Norma worked at Jefferson County Hospital as a Certified Nurse's Aide and in physical therapy for 12 years. She also worked for Warren County Home Health Service for several years. Norma lived in Adel, Agency, What Cheer, Milo and the Fairfield area. Norma was always active in her church, school functions, the Farm Bureau and Ladies Aid group. She was always helping someone or caring for a family member.
Norma moved to West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Aug. 31, 1998. She passed away from there on Jan. 23, 2008, at the age of 87.
Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Phyllis Liliskies of San Carlos, Mexico, and June DeLighte Wilbur and her husband, Ronald of Carlisle; one son, Larry Roberts and his wife, Becky of St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Committal services were held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Jones may be made to West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund or the Knoxville Humane Society. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
