Mrs. James White

Clara Irene Cosby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Cosby was born in Fremont, Iowa November 1, 1873 and passed away at the Mater hospital at Knoxville, Iowa September 5 at the age of 63 years, 10 months, and five days. On May 17, 1893, she was united in marriage to James White. To this union twelve children were born. Four sons and one daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn, her husband, James White, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crispen, Mrs. Vivian Redding, 5 sons, Everett, Orval, Merle, Amos and Donald all of Harvey. Two sisters, Mrs. Maud Kinney of Fremont, Mrs Kate Sweetet of Hollywood, California, and one brother Clarence Cosby of Fremont. Sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of relaties and friends. In March 1916, they moved from Ottumwa, Iowa to near Harvey where she lived until her death. At an early age she gave her heart and life to her Lord and Master in the Methodist church at Fremont, Iowa. After coming to Harvey she attended the Pentecostal church and in 1923 she became a member of that assembly. She was a faithful servant of her Lord and was always willing to do or go wherever he would lead. She walked this world's pathway with her hand in the nail-pierced hand of Christ her redeemer. When death Angel's summons came, she fell asleep in the arms of Jesus. She not alone was a mother to her own family but was a dear mother to everyone. Always had a word of tender love and kindness for those in their hour of sorrow. Shw will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held in the Harvey church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in the Harvey cemetery.
