Janice Thill was born on Sept. 10, 1951, in Corning to Vernon and Lola (Holker) Johnston. She moved to Pleasantville from Corning as a small child with her parents and attended Pleasantville Community Schools, graduating in 1969, and attended Iowa State University.

Janice passed away on June 29, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 55 with family and friends by her side throughout her lengthy hospital stay.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Vernon and Lola Johnston.

On Dec. 5, 1970, she married James Thill, the son of James and Lillian Thill.

They made their home in Pleasantville and enjoyed building family homes together.

Their children are Bryan (Amy) of Pleasantville and Lisa (Ray) of Houston, Texas. They have four grandchildren.

Janice loved her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family and friends. She especially enjoyed camping with family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very optimistic person in every situation, including her illness.

Janice enjoyed working with her coworkers as a Claims Specialist at Aviva in Des Moines, where she has worked for over 20 years.

Janice will be dearly missed by all.

A mass Of Christian burial was held on July 3 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Knoxville with Rev. Stephen Ebel as the celebrant.

Interment was in Pleasantville Cemetery. Mason Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
