She retired from elementary teaching after almost 40 years.

Inez was a member of the Mary Marion Chapter of the DAR, the Retired Teachers Association and the First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. Joining the church in 1932 made Inez the oldest member of the church. Inez was an avid reader throughout her entire life. She enjoyed all types of books and magazines. Inez also enjoyed participating in the lives and activities of her nieces and nephews.

Inez Ellerhoff passed away on Feb. 3, 2007, at the Westridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville at the age of 92.
