Funeral services for Gladys Bell (Six) O'Brien, 92, who died Jan. 2, were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Elder Bill McDonald officiated at the services. Jim Kidder was organist.

Interment was at the Breckenridge Cemetery in rural Marion County. Casketbearers were Joe Ohnemus, Ken Six, Mike Six, Brian Six, Chad Six, and Gary Six.

Gladys was born on Jan. 31, 1911, in Plainview, Texas, the daughter of James and Naomie (Shoup) Breckenridge. She was raised in the Knoxville area and on March 22, 1927 she married George W. Six in Knoxville. George died in 1940 and she was later married to Daniel Bernard O'Brien; he died in 1992.

She is survived by four sons, Larry Six of Des Moines, Kenneth Six and wife Wilma of Knoxville, Wesley Six and wife Margaret of Mitchellville, and Mike Alcazar and wife Kathy of Fort Dodge; two daughters, Juanita Ohnemus of Knoxville and Dorothy Montgomery of Wheaton, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, two sons, George M. and Lewis H. Six; two brothers, Wesley and Zane Breckenridge; two sisters, Pearl Morrow and Mae Zimmerman; two grandsons, infant twin granddaughters; a great-grandson and two sons-in-law, Dean Ohnemus and Marvin "Doc" Montgomery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.

Arrangements were made by Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.
