William Thomas Stephenson was born in Knoxville, Iowa, March 18, 1922 and passed from this life on Sunday afternoon, March 8, 1936. He was 13 years, 11 months and 20 days of age. Billie was the eldest son of Henry and Stella Stephenson.
He was a freshman in the Knoxville high school.
Whenever it was possible for him to do so he attended the high school boys' class in the Sunday school of the Christian church. He was known as a quiet dependable boy. In and about the church he was always a little gentleman. We all loved him and enjoyed his friendship. Billie had not made a decision for Christ. He was just reaching the age when we would have expected him to do so. He liked to come to the services of the Christian Endeavour and the church.
Billie is the first of his family to enter into the life beyond. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, his brothers and sisters, Wilma, Paul, Glen, Ruth, and LeRoy, his grandparents, Thomas Newton Stephenson, Indianapolis, Ind; and William Thomas and Emma White, Knoxville; several uncles, aunts and cousins, besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the First Christian Church, Rev. A Vern Cleveland officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery.
