Funeral services for Wilma Anna Jones, 81, of Knoxville who died on Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held on Tuesday, July 3, at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home. Rev. Darrel Swafford officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist and Katie Davis, soloist.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Curt Ikerd, Jerry Jones, Kevin Scarff, Chris Tidwell, Chris Rominger, and Rick and David Stephenson.

Wilma was born on February 14, 1920 in rural Knoxville, the daughter of Henry and Stell (White) Stephenson. She graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended beauty school in Ottumwa.

She married Clinton Jones on May 22, 1947 in Des Moines. She was a hairdresser for 52 years, working first for Mrs. Beamer and later owning her own salon. She was a very skilled seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and other craft work. She often took her work to local craft shows.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Billy and Glen Stephenson.

She is survived by her husband, Clinton; two brothers, Paul Stephenson of Knoxville and Leroy Stephenson of Ft. White, FL; a sister, Ruth McDonald of Knoxville and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were made by Bybee and Davis Funeral Home.
