*** IN LOVING MEMORY OF ***
Ruth Hester (Robuck) McKim, the daughter of Elizabeth Jane (Etcher) and Tyler Dennis Robuck, was born Oct. 26, 1911, on the family farm near Attica. She lived in Marion County all her life. Ruth attended the Attica School through eighth grade. She was a member of the Attica Methodist Church. In later years, Ruth became a member of the Knoxville Apostolic Church. Ruth married Cleo Burt on May 10, 1931. They had two children: Raymond Lee Burt, born June 21, 1932, and Rose Mary Burt, born June 5, 1933. Both died in infancy. She later married Pearl McKim on Nov. 15, 1958. Ruth and her mother moved to Knoxville where she was employed as a housekeeper at the Swift Hotel as well as cleaning for others over the years. When she quit those jobs she became a companion for Mamie Whitlatch, living with her for some time. Ruth was a resident of West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since April 1995. She enjoyed living there, though in October 1997, she broke a hip and was unable to walk after that. Ruth passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the age of 96. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands; two children; three brothers: Azel, Guy and Fred Robuck; two sisters: Minnie Busick and Fonda Laird; two nieces: Lois Brown and Sarah Lambert; and two nephews: Delno Busick and William Reese Robuck. Those left to mourn her passing are eight nieces and one nephew and their families, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Rutter officiating. Interment was in Gullion Cemetery, rural Marion County. Memorial in memory of Mrs. McKim may be made to the Knoxville Apostolic Church or the West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center activity fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.williamsfhknoxville.com. Williams Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
