Katy Marie Maddy

Katy Marie Hendrix, daughter of Otho and Sarah Bartlett Hendrix, was born June 14, 1873 in Muncie, IN and passed away Dec 19, 1950 at the Mercy Hospital in Oskaloosa. She came with her parents to Marion County when she was 2 1/2 years old and lived here since that time.

On June 27, 1901 she was united in marriage to James Madison Maddy in Knoxville. To this union one daughter, Helen, was born.

Mrs. Maddy united with the First Methodist church of Knoxville, Nov. 26, 1916.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct 7, 1940 and by one stepson, Harry, in March 1946.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen, one stepdaughter Hallie Vador of Kansas City, MO, and one brother Thomas Hendrix of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Bybee & Davis funeral home Saturday, Dec. 23 at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Paul Hann. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
