Knoxville Express Thursday January 13, 1944

James Washington Barnhill, son of James and Melissa Barnhill, was born June 11, 1862, at Marysville, and died at the Collins memorial hospital in knoxville, January 11, 1944, aged 81 years and 7 months.

The deceased was united in marriage to Emma Gray, who preceded him in death April 1, 1932. To this union one child was born, now deceased. He is survived by three brothers, Sam, Charles and Jasper, all of Bussey, and two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Hendrix, of Evans, and Mrs. Sabia Wheeler, of Des Moines.

The deceased lived his entire life in Marion county where he worked at mining and farming.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock from the Bybee & Davis funeral home, conducted by Rev. M.M. Pigg, pastor of the First Christian Church, of Knoxville. Interment will be at the Greenwood cemetery.
