Dave Clarence Roland, son of Mr and Mrs Hiram Roland was born in Knoxville, April 20, 1889, and departed this life on Nov 24, 1950 at Collins Memorial hospital at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 4 days.

Dave lived his entire life in, or near Knoxville. On Feb 2, 1916, he united in marriage to Miss Tillie Mae Hegwood. To this union four children were born: Ione Pearl Allard and Colleen Mae Stoneking both of Knoxville, Betty Jane Erwin of Washington, and David Eugene Roland, who is serving his country in the U.S. Navy.

Besides his wife and children Mr Roland is survived by eight grandchildren, four brothers: Harley, Benton and Floyd of Knoxville, and Ted of Truro; four sisters: Mrs Josie Mae Cox of Knoxville, Mrs Lucille Wisdom of Spirit lake, Mrs Halley Young of Des Moines, and Mrs Flora Jones of Knoxville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God church Monday, with Rev J.O. Howard officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
