Henry "Junior" Cade, son and the eldest child of Elton and Grace Aalbers Cade, was born September 2, 1929, in Pleasantville, Iowa. Junior, a name that he was called by many, attended schools in the Harvey and Attica area through grade six. He then moved to California with his Uncle Clark Cade for more schooling and work.

At age seventeen Junior joined the Air Force in Jacksonville, Florida. He spent fifteen months in Okinawa, Japan, and then returned to Pella on furlough to visit family. This is when he met Marcia D. Klein. Also at that time he received his orders to transfer to Washington D.C. He then asked Marcia for her hand in marriage and they were united in marriage on January 19, 1950, at the First Reformed Church in Pella. After their wedding reception they left for Washington, D.C. where they lived for four months. Upon Junior receiving his honorable discharge, the couple moved back to Pella. They lived briefly with Marcia's parents where Junior helped on the farm. They later moved to Pella and three daughters were born into the family: Cathy, Candace, and Carma.

Over the years Junior was employed at the following businesses: Chevy Garage, a foreman at Vermeer Manufacturing, City of Pella, drove from Pella to Des Moines to work at Eagle Iron as a welder, he then transferred to Lennox Furnace, and John Deere of Ankeny. Later he became employed at the Rolscreen Company in Pella, now known as Pella Corporation. There he held various jobs, including Quality Control. He retired in December of 1988 after twenty-five years of service.

In 1963 Junior and his family moved to a farm south of Pella which was previously owned by his in-laws. He purchased three acres and enjoyed country living. This remained the home of Junior and Marcia until the time of his death. Junior helped a neighbor farm for one year after his retirement and also drove for Pella Construction during the summer months. He and Marcia wintered in Arizona, which they did for ten years until his health declined.

Junior was a member of the First Reformed Church in Pella. While living south of Pella, Junior's hobbies consisted of raising saddle horses. His favorite horse was "Champ". He was past president of the Pella Saddle Club. He also raised calves to butcher and enjoyed the sound of sheep.

Junior passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center Monday, November 13, 2006, at the age of seventy-seven years.

He leaves his beloved wife Marcia of fifty-six years; his three daughters: Cathy Jo (Paul H.) Beyer, Candace Joy Dittmer, Carma Jean (Robert A.) Ruthven all of Pella, ten grandchildren: three great-grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Irene and Dean Van Osdal of Burlington, Iowa; and a special nephew, Curtis Lee Kane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Byers; and his brother, Wayne Lee Cade.Junior's daughters remember their younger years of horseback riding, camping, and out-of-state family vacations.
