On February 11, 1985, Marvin Dale and Sharon Eileen (Pothoven) Seekamp gave birth to their second child, Scott Allen Seekamp.

Scott was born at the Pella Community Hospital in Pella, Iowa. At the age of just three months Scott came in contact with mennigitis, which left him with various disabilities. Scott received special education beginning in the Pella Community Schools. Most of his schooling was received at the Knoxville Community Schools in Knoxville, Iowa and for a year and a half attended the Newton Community Schools in Newton, Iowa.

After his schooling, Scott went to work at the Christian Opportunity Center workshop in Pella until his health prevented him from doing so. During these years Scott's special needs were faithfully attended to by his parents.

On Friday evening, October 6, 2006, Scott passed away shortly after arriving at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella. He attained the age of 21 years, seven months and 25 days.

Scott will be dearly missed by his mother, Sharon E. Seekamp; his sister, Wendy S. and her husband, Travis Albers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Leona (Vos) Pothoven; his paternal grandmother, Katherine (Van Der Hart) Seekamp all of Pella; his paternal step-great-grandmother, Thelma (Toms) Seekamp of Norwalk, Wisconsin; six uncles and aunts; several cousins; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Marv Seekamp and his paternal grandfather, Vernon Seekamp.

Scott was a baptized member of the First Reformed Church in Pella. He enjoyed interacting with people and especially his family members.
