Wright, Wilma Roberta (Hofmann) 1944-2006

Wilma Roberta Wright passed away on Aug. 5, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center at the age of 61 from complications of diabetes and renal failure. Services were held on Aug. 9 at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas. Interment was in the Dallas Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Wilma Roberta was born on Aug. 12, 1944, in Greenfield to Wilbur and Eleanor Marie (Vanderpool) Hofmann. She graduated from Greenfield High School.

She later married Dee Wright in Princeton, Mo. on May 8, 1967. She was a very caring mother to five wonderful children: Scott, Bill, Roger, Greg and Heidi.
Roberta was very active in the community.

She often helped and participated with many school activities: band, concession stands and homecoming costumes. Roberta was the final editor for the Melcher-Dallas History Book from the start to finish.

She took pleasure in cooking, sewing and making May Baskets. Roberta was also very active within her church, she enjoyed helping with Bible School and was a Sunday school teacher.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Dee Wright; children, Scott Wright of Des Moines, Bill Wright of Iowa City, Roger (Melodie) Wright of Palmer, Alaska, Greg (Diane) Wright of Des Moines and Heidi Wright of Indianola; three grandchildren; her mother, Eleanor Hofmann of Indianola; her brother, Larry (Linda) Hofmann of Avon Park, Fla. and a nephew, Tim (Resa) Hofmann of Maryland.
