Pinegar, Virgie Harriett 1920-2006

Virgie Harriett Pinegar was born on March 15, 1920, at home in Marysville. She was one of 16 children born to Elsie Eileen Barnhill and Walter Leroy Pettyjohn.

On April 9, 1938, Virgie married John Pinegar. To this union five children were born. Virgie was a long time member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Virgie Harriett Pinegar departed from this life on Aug. 15, 2006, at the Pleasant Care Living Center in Pleasantville at the age of 86.

Those family members who preceded Virgie in death were her parents, husband, one granddaughter, four sisters and four brothers.

Family members left to mourn her passing are one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Lloyd Birdsong of Knoxville; four sons and their wives, Larry and Wilma Pinegar of Bussey, Robert and Mary Pinegar and Bill and Cindy Pinegar of Marysville and Jack and Ruth Pinegar of Pella; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Goodsell of Knoxville, Juanita Wallace of Mitchellville, Ramona Bennett and her husband, Leslie of Harvey, Verna Means and her husband, Donald of Illinois and Annetta Roberts of Marysville and two brothers and their wives, Lowell "Crow" and Barbara Pettyjohn of Knoxville and Malcolm "Buddy" and Thelma Pettyjohn of Oskaloosa.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 19 at Williams Funeral Home. Brother Michael Parker officiated. Interment was in the Marysville Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Pinegar may be made to the Marysville Cemetery Association or Marysville Community Center.
