Funeral services for Elmo A. Mecham of Knoxville were held at the Community of Christ Church on Sept. 21 with Elder Bill McDonald officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Graceland Cemetery.

Elmo passed away on Sept. 18, 2006, at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System at the age of 86. He was a WWII Pearl Harbor Veteran, a farmer, a carpenter and had worked for the VA Hospital in Knoxville before retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sara of Knoxville and four sons, Jerry and Ann Mecham of Kingston, Wash., Gordon and Nancy Mecham of Pleasantville, Bruce and Marla Mecham of Winterset and Rand and Chris Mecham of Knoxville; one brother, Bud and Jackie Mecham of Walsburg, Utah and two sisters, Velma and Reed Ford of Walsburg, Utah and Violet and Vernon Jaques of Laverkin, Utah.

Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Building 67AB, Knoxville Veterans Hopital.
