Harvey Lee Lennie was born on Sept. 6, 1940, in Harvey to Louis and Darlene (Kinner) Lennie.

He attended school and lived in Albia until 1963. During this time, Harvey worked for the railroad and for the Durham Rock Company. Harvey then moved to Waterloo where he worked at Titas Manufacturing. When the company moved to Mexico in 1974, he moved back to Harvey to work for 3-M. He retired in 1987 as the supervisor of the Coating Division. Harvey married Connie Whitt in Villisca on Oct. 30, 1987.

Harvey passed away on Aug. 27, 2006, at his home in Harvey at the age of 65.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nellie Marie Lennie; a brother, Carl Lennie; five half-brothers and six half-sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Selena (Hank) Roux of Libertyville, Ill., Dan (Luann) Lennie of Hemet, Calif., and Laura (Jeff) Morrow of Knoxville; step-children, Bill Whitt of Essex, Laura Whitt of Villisca and David Whitt of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Lennie White of Harvey.

Graveside services were held on Aug. 31 at Eureka Cemetery in Harvey with Chaplain Brian Jones officiating.

Memorials may be made to Eureka Cemetery or to Hospice of Central Iowa.
Bybee and Davis Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
