Frank Hollingsworth was born on Oct. 23, 1932 in Pleasantville, the son of Robert and Sarah (Hodds) Hollingsworth.

He graduated from Pleasantville High School. Frank served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He worked for the Iowa Air Guard, owned a tavern and worked in factories before retiring from Western International as a welding setup person. He often joked that he started his career carrying groceries while in high school, and ended it by doing the same for five years following retirement.

Frank passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 73.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Niles, Dean "Barney" and Lauren "Wally".

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 48 years, Kathryn; son, Bruce of Pleasantville; and sister, Mary O'Neal of Boone.

Funeral services were held in Pleasantville on Sept. 23 with Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating. Internment was in Pleasantville Cemetery.
