Lyndall Maxine Smith was born on April 13,1922, in Bussey to Hershel and Eunice (Willy) Eddleman.

She married Joseph Warren Smith on Jan. 21, 1941. She lived in Pershing most of her life. Maxine was employed at Rolscreen for nine years, but most of her time was spent being a homemaker.

Maxine died on May 5, 2006, at the Comfort House Hospice in Pella at the age of 84.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-son, Charlie Smith; daughter, Evelyn Cox; a granddaughter, Debra Williams and a sister, Leah Reed.

Survivors include her children, Betty (David) Walter and Lyndall (David) Umble, all of Hamilton and Randall (Suli) Smith of Clermont, Fla; three brothers, James, Kenneth and Thomas Eddleman; three sisters, Wilma Williams, Bonnie Flugel and Geraldine McHaffy; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on May 9 with Tim Vaughn, Richard Davis and Sandra Boettcher officiating. Interment was in Gullion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.
