Frances S. Moore Roman, 93, of Las Vegas, died on Jan. 23, 2006, from an accidental fall at home.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1912, in Knoxville and resided in Las Vegas for 15 years. Frances was a licensed cosmetologist and owned and operated many beauty shops in Iowa. She married Joe L. Moore in 1937, and had one son.

In 1973, Frances married Edmund Roman and lost him in 1981. She was also a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Community on Torrey Pines and West Tropicana Ave. Frances also attended mass at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was to help people and writing or calling her friends throughout the years.

Frances was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael; ex-husband, Joe L. Moore; husband, Edmund Roman and niece, Kathleen Moore.

She is survived by her son, Thomas J. "Tom" Moore; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Moore; 14 nieces and nephews plus many, many close friends in Las Vegas and in Iowa.

A funeral mass was held on Feb. 1 at The Grand Court in Las Vegas. Burial followed.
