Marguerite was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Marion County, the daughter of Martin and Maye Fisher Moneysmith. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1931.

She married Morris Leroy Orcutt on Feb. 21, 1939 at the Methodist parsonage in Newton. He died in 1958.

She was a lifelong resident of Marion County and was a clerical worker at Doud's Computer Services in Des Moines. Marguerite enjoyed traveling, gardening and quilting. She belonged to Community Garden Club in which her mother-in-law, Carrie Orcutt, helped establish.

Marguerite died June 25 at the age of 92. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Floyd, Elmer (Lavern), Walter (Bertha) Moneysmith and one brother-in-law, Charlie Carroll.

She is survived by one daughter, Fern Orcutt of Knoxville; one son, Jerry (Judy) Orcutt of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Maxine Carroll of Davenport and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held June 29 with Pastor Del Rittgers officiating. Internment was in Lincoln Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene and the Knoxville Public Library.
