Langebartels, Guyola (Dhabalt) 1922-2006

LANGEBARTELS, DHABALT, BOOZELL

Funeral services for Guyola Langebartels of Melcher-Dallas were on March 15 at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher-Dallas. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery in rural Lacona. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa and St. John or St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Guyola Mae (Dhabalt) Langebartels was born on Oct. 5, 1922, at home in Dallas. She was the daughter of John and Icyle (Boozell) Dhabalt. Guyola was baptized on Feb. 3, 1935, and confirmed on April 5, 1936, at St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher. She served her Lord as a member of Ladies Aid, as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and by babysitting so others could perform church duties. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She lived her whole life in the Melcher-Dallas area.

Guyola loved sports and was a member of the Dallas High School basketball team in her youth. She was an ardent supporter of the local teams especially when her grandchildren were playing. She also enjoyed card games and parties. Most of all she liked being with her family.

Guyola was united in holy marriage to Earnie John Langebartels on Oct. 3, 1948, at St. Paul, Germantown (rural Lacona), Marion County. God blessed this union with three children: Mary, Henry and Judy. Guyola was called to her heavenly home on March 11, 2006, at the age of 83.

Preceding her in death were her parents; step-father, Paul Bote; brothers, Irven (Doc), Johnnie, Frank, Freddy, Jerry and Harold and sisters, Verna Zoutte, Mary Oliver, Judy Willoughby and Bell Bingham.

Guyola is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Earnie; children, Mary (Melvin) Moon of Melcher-Dallas, Henry (Chris) Langebartels and Judy (Claire) Dittmer both of rural Lacona; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Yvonne) Dhabalt of Burlington; sisters-in-law Ardice Dhabalt and Virginia Schneider of Melcher-Dallas. Guyola will be warmly and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
