Chase Braden Huizer was the second of three sons born to Mark and Vicky (Jansen) Huizer. He was born on August 8, 1984, in Newton, Iowa.

Chase was baptized at the First Reformed Church in Sully, Iowa. He attended Lynnville-Sully schools, where during high school he was an active member of the golf and football teams and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. While in high school Chase developed a passion for Teens Encounter Christ through numerous weekend retreats. He graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School with the class of 2003. He then attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa for one semester studying business and was working on a business management degree through on-line courses.

Chase loved to work and spend time with family and friends. While growing up he held a number of jobs, including helping on a dairy farm for Tim and Vernon Vanden Hoek. Chase had been employed at the Pella Corporation since June 2005 and was currently a facilitator. Chase enjoyed going out to eat and golfing with his parents. Chase and his older brother Tate started a business tinting automobile windows two years ago and spent many Saturdays together in this venture. Along with Brett, his younger brother, Chase spent countless hours cleaning and polishing their vehicles, 'hanging out', and just having fun together. Chase loved to spend time with his special friend Sarah Ernst watching movies and rollerblading. His free time was spent 'hanging out' with his best friends Zach Van Wyk and Brian Vander Meiden and a host of other close friends.

Chase lived life to the fullest. Chase had many hobbies including working on his house, working on his vehicles, golfing, playing with his nieces and helping others. Chase was an active member of the Lynnville Friends Church in Lynnville. Chase loved the vacations spent with his grandparents, parents and siblings, and his friends.

Chase was involved in a motorcycle accident on the evening of Thursday April 13. He passed away of these injuries and went to be with the Lord on Friday April 14, 2006. Chase was 21 years, 8 months and 6 days of age but lived those years to the fullest.

Those who will cherish his memory are his parents: Mark and Vicky Huizer of Lynnville; his two brothers: Tate Huizer and his wife Melissa (Dykstra) of Pella and their two daughters Brooklyn (2 yrs) and Ashton (3 mo); and Brett Huizer, a senior at Lynnville-Sully High School in Sully; his maternal grandparents: Guy and Janet (Rolffs) Jansen of Pella; his step-great-grandmother, Henrietta (Dick) Rolffs of Pella. Chase leaves a special friend, Sarah Ernst of Pella who is presently attending the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa; along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Chase was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Hubert and Joyce (Baarda) Huizer.

For those desiring, a Chase B. Huizer Memorial Scholarship Fund is being established to assist teens desiring to attend a Teens Encountering Christ week-end.
