The body of Arthur P. Wagle, 47, a patient, was found in the pond at the Veterans Hospital, Sept. 3.

Recreation Technician Paul Robinson discovered the body and notified authorities. Wagle's outer clothing had been removed and placed on the bank of the pond. County Coroner, Dr. Alan Patterson, reported an autopsy revealed the cause of death as drowning.

Wagle had been admitted to the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville approximately one year ago from the V.A. Hospital in Downey, Ill. Prior to that he had been hospitalized in various institutions since 1949.
