*Can somebody let me know how I can get a death certificate for this person? I believe he was buried at Sidney Cemetery but not sure. I have him on findagrave.com buried by his wife. She has a stone but there is no picture of his stone.

Capt James Robert Thompson died at 5 a.m. this morning , at the home of his son. The Funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock BY Rev. A. E. Griffith, pastor of the Methodist church, in Sidney, Iowa. Caption Thompson had Lived in the city but a few months, having recently come from his former home in Fremont Co. Iowa to reside with his son in Missouri He was 76 years old. He was a Farmer for most of his life but also worked as a Tin Smith, & ran fright on the river. James married Mary Elizabeth Betchel in 1864. They raised a family in Fremont Co. Iowa.
When he was a young man , he and his brother Archibald-(Towny was his nick name) ran a steamboat on the Mississippi River. the boat was lost and sank in 1851, in the docks around St Loius. Due to a ice jam.
