Sumner &1905 Death Causes

I am trying to locate death information on Cynthia P. (Jewett) Sumner, who died 17 Oct, 1905. It is my understanding that she would have been living in Oskaloosa at the time with her husband William H. Sumner and possibly with their daughter Bessie June (Sumner) Findley and granddaughter May.
Since the daughter, Bessie June died shortly thereafter (in California) I am wondering if there was some health epidemic that took place in 1905/06 in this area of Iowa. Thank you. Claudia
