Electa's mother, Charlotte Gilbert Phillips is enumerated in 1900 [as Sharlotte] in Sheridan, Holt County, Nebraska. Her information states that she has had 6 children, 4 of whom are living. At that time, the 4 living would have been daughters Miranda, Charlotte and Nancy and son, Thomas. Son Truman was deceased.
Charlotte was born June 14, 1806 and died December 28, 1902. In her obituary, it says, "...6 children were born to them. 2 sons and 4 daughters, a son and daughter and her husband preceding her in death." It appears that Electa Ann died before her mother based on this.
"Charlotte Gilbert was born in Ontario Co, NY Jan 14,1806 and died in Atkinson Dec 28,1902. She removed with her parents to Livingston Co, NY in 1810 where she was married to David Phillips Feb 14,1827. For many years they made their home in the State of New York, while the country was new and still inhabited by Indians. 6 children were born to them. 2 sons and 4 daughters, a son and daughter and her husband preceding her in death. In early life she was converted and lived a devout Christian life and was beloved by all who knew her. Only 2 children were at her bedside when death came, one daughter being prevented by the inclemency of the weather, and the other being in Denver, Colorado. She was buried from Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member on Dec 30."
