Are these two different people? The 'Elle' Steenhoek Dejong, born circa 1900, is listed in the 1925 Iowa state census, which does list parents' names.

1925 Iowa, Mahaska, Black Oak:

Albert Dejong, 27, b Iowa...father, Jette (or Jelte) Dejong, 56, b Iowa..mother, Minnie Van Gorp, 47, b Holland.

Mrs. Elle Dejong, 25, b Iowa (it is indexed 'Mrs. Elle' but the image appears to be 'Mrs. Albert')...father, Gerrit Steenhoek, 48, b Iowa...mother, Agnes Ver Rees, 47 (?), b Iowa.

Wilhemina Dejong, 1, b Iowa...father, Albert Dejong, 27...mother, Mabel Steenhoek (but the index page again says 'Elle'), 25, b Iowa.

Albert is listed as being a veteran, Army, WWI, who enlisted in Iowa.
