Mrs. Jones, a respected old lady, and one of the earliest settlers of this region, died last Monday. (Hopewell Correspondence, The Weekly Oskaloosa Herald, Thusrday, May 10, 1877, Vol. 27, No. 36, pg. 2)

Mrs. Martin Jones died on 2nd of this month, at her daughter's residence, Mrs. A. Wymore. She was one of the oldest residents in Iowa, having lived here about 30 years. (Hopewell Correspondence, The Weekly Oskaloosa Herald, Thursday, May 17, 1877, Vol. 27, No. 37, pg. 2)
