Thank you for your response. I have found him through the WPA Work Projects Adm, Iowa Graves survey. http://iowawpagraves.org. He died on 28 Jan 1872 and is buried in White Oak Grove Cemetery, Mahaska County, Iowa with his wife, Jane, and son, Samuel M. I'm still struggling trying to find who his parents were. He lived in Osklaloosa, Mahaska, Iowa from 1840 census on and may have owned land.
