Mattix. -- Died, of old age, at his home in Jefferson Township, at 12:30 o'clock P.M., Sunday, June 24, 1900, CHRISTOPHER MATTIX, aged 81 years. Funeral from Coal Creek church at 3 P.M., Monday, and interment in Coal Creek cemetery.

The deceased leaves a wife, five sons and one daughter, who have the kind sympathy of the entire community. Mr. Mattix was one of the pioneers of the state and has been a resident of Iowa for a period of 55 years. Much of this time he has spent in Mahaska county.
