Mary Beach Carson (1863-1930)

Mary Beach Carson was born in Richland township, Mahaska county, Ia., April 24, 1863, and died at her home in Oskaloosa, Ia., October 20, 1930. She was the daughter of T. C. and Martha Campbell Beach, deceased, and always lived in Mahaska county. On September 16, 1911, she was married to Willis J. Carson. She leaves besides her husband and a step-daughter, Mrs. Versa C. Decker of Chicago, three brothers, Mark W., Thomas C. and Joseph C. Beach, all of Oskaloosa. One brother, Luke Beach, preceded her in death. Mrs. Carson was a member of the First Christian church and of the Loyal Woman's Bible class, of Oskaloosa Chapter No. 146, Order of Eastern Star, and of the Ida Mansfield Circle of King's Daughters. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Elam at the First Christian church Friday afternoon, October 24. Dr. Roy Gillett sang two numbers, accompanied by Miss Bernice Miller. Burial was made in Forest cemetery. (source unknown; likely The Oskaloosa Herald; 1930).
