BEACH - Thomas Corwin Beach, 214 Third avenue east, died at the Mahaska hospital here at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, March 23, 1936, from illness following a stroke on March 14, at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 19 days. Mr. Beach, son of Thomas Caleb Beach and Martha Campbell Beach, was born at Peoria, Ia., on May 4, 1858, and spent practically his entire life in Mahaska county. He came to Oskaloosa to live after his retirement from the farm some 20 years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Beach Spalding of San Francisco, Calif., a granddaughter, Mrs. Carroll V. Jones of San Francisco, Calif., and two great-grandsons, Donald and Stanley Jones of San Francisco, Calif., and two brothers, Mark W. Beach and Joseph C. Beach of Oskaloosa. Funeral services at the First Christian church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, March 25, 1935, with the Rev. M. H. Williams, pastor, in charge. Burial in Forest cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the First Christian church in Oskaloosa from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday. (source unknown; likely from The Oskaloosa Herald, 1936)

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Spalding of San Francisco, Calif., are leaving Monday for their home after spending part of a month here. They were called here by the illness and death of Mrs. Spalding's father, the late Thomas C. Beach. (source unknown; likely The Oskaloosa Herald, April 18, 1936)
